Dr. Shahrul Ainliah Alang Ahmad is a senior lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science Universiti Putra Malaysia. She obtained her PhD in 2010 at the University of Sheffield which involved nanofabrication of biological nanostructures via scanning near field photolithography, in which a scanning near – field optical microscope was used. In 2013, she was awarded Postdoctoral fellowship from Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, which enabled her to work with Scientia Professor Justin Gooding from University of New South Wales, Australia. Her project concerns on the electrochemical studies of silicon modification which mainly involved the use of potentiostat for analyses. Her main research interests include fabrication of organic thin films (self – assembled monolayers, SAMs), characterization and manipulation of molecular and biomolecular on the micro and nanometer scale. She has published 11 ISI-cited research papers.
