Dr.Suriati Paiman is currently a senior lecturer at the Physics Department, Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her researches are in the area of compound semiconductors nanostructures, nanoelectronics and condensed matter physics. Suriati has a PhD in Physics from the Australian National University. She is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the American Chemical Society (ACS), Australian Research Network for Advanced Materials (ARNAM), The Australian Research Council Nanotechnology Network (ARCNN) and Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology (MASS). Suriati is the Principal Investigator (PI) on a The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) which is a global science academy based in Treste, Italy funded project exploring the of growth of defect-free III-V compound semiconductors nanowires towards optoelectronics devices. She has published numerous papers on III-V compound semiconductors nanowires and has been reviewer of the Nanotechnology, Journal of Crystal Growth and other peered review publications.
